I have big news to share—I’m officially going full-time with Aroha Music Therapy!

For the past year, I’ve been working as a contractor for a company in Atlanta while building my own music therapy practice on the side. As of last week, I’ve stepped away from that position to focus entirely on growing my business.

When I launched Aroha Music Therapy in December, I couldn’t have predicted how quickly things would grow. I started this private practice with cautious optimism—nervous but excited about the possibilities. I began sharing the news about my services, and little by little, my caseload grew. Before I knew it, I had a steady group of weekly clients who kept showing up.

By spring, my schedule had become overwhelming. My husband and I realized that juggling both roles—contractor and business owner—wasn’t sustainable long term. It wasn’t just the number of sessions; it was also the complexity of managing two different caseloads and sets of expectations. I found myself wondering: What would it feel like to give all of my energy to Aroha Music Therapy?

We started mapping out what it would take—financially and logistically—for me to make that leap. Meanwhile, my business continued to grow, and I kept finding deeper value and meaning in the work. Eventually, I reached the income threshold we had set, and it became clear that it was time.

With support from the company I was contracting with, I gradually reduced my hours, and last week, I officially facilitated my final session there. Just like that, I became a full-time music therapist in private practice!

This past week—focusing solely on Aroha Music Therapy—has brought an immense sense of relief. I feel grounded, empowered, and more connected to my purpose than ever before.

This transition has been thoughtful and intentional, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, and incredible clients. My family has been my greatest cheerleader, encouraging and guiding me every step of the way. And my clients—the heart of this work—have made it possible for me to pursue a career that feels sustainable, fulfilling, and aligned.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I’m so excited for what’s ahead and grateful to be walking this path with you!
