Our mission

At Aroha Music Therapy, our mission is to harness the transformative power of music to enhance the well-being of individuals across all ages and backgrounds. Through personalized music therapy services, we aim to promote sensory, emotional, cognitive, social, and physical growth. We offer tailored services that can help clients at various stages of their lives.

Our vision

The word "aroha" (pronounced uh-row-ha) in Indian languages, refers to the ascending or rising aspect of something, particularly in the context of music or classical compositions. It denotes the ascending scale or progression in Indian classical music. By harnessing the principles of Aroha, we aim to guide each person on a journey of growth and progress, helping them rise to their fullest potential, through music therapy. We are committed to providing a safe, compassionate space where music becomes a powerful tool for expression, connection, and positive change.

Expertise

My name is Ananya, I’m from Los Angeles, California! I started off my music therapy journey with my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy with a Minor in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I moved to Colorado and completed my internship at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, CO. After this, I took the exam to become a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I then moved to Madison to work as a music therapist, providing in-home and in-facility services. I moved back to Colorado to get my Master’s Degree in Music with a Music Therapy Specialization from Colorado State University. While earning my master's degree, I worked as a music therapist, and offered in-home services for children. I now live in the North Atlanta area with my husband and enjoy reading, watching tv, playing board games, hiking, doing art projects, and spending time with my family in my spare time!
